Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette Review

November 20, 2017

Hello everyone! Eye shadow palettes have always been my favorite piece of makeup to buy and use. This little eyeshadow palette has caught my eye for quite a while but I was skeptical to buy it. With any higher end makeup, I like to do my research to see if I am getting my money’s worth. This palette had wonderful reviews on websites such as Sephora. The only thing that made me worry was the colors in this palette. I use a ton of soft pink shades and browns. I mostly reach for palettes that have a lot of natural colors but are very pigmented so I can do a dramatic ‘natural’ toned look. That being said, this palette has a ton of oranges and red shade which I am not used to. That was the main reason it took me months until I caved and picked it up.

I am going to start by saying when I first got this palette I didn’t like it. It had nothing to do with the formula or the pigment of the colors. I didn’t like it because I did not know how to use the colors. These colors were ones that I never used before. After playing with it a few times, I started to really like it. There are a ton of romantic looks you can create with this palette. I was worried that the red would be too deep and it would almost look evil but that was not the case. All the colors blend out very well and are very pigmented while still looking soft instead of cakey. With any red colors that are highly pigmented, there is a bit of fallout but since the colors blend so well it doesn’t effect anything.

This palette is absolutely one of my favorites. If you are on the fence about buying it I would recommend you do. Too Faced has a special place in my heart when it comes to eye shadow palettes but this one is a close tie with any of the Too Faced ones in my heart. There is so much eye shadow in this palette that this palette will last you months if not a year and most likely I will find myself buying it again when I finish it.
